Processing Speed
Nowadays many websites use scripts and databases to enhance their functionality. Unfortunately not every hosting service can run such applications smoothly. It is possible that a site can be loaded very quickly if it only consists of static webpages but very slow to be loaded if using a database or executing a script. To avoid facing such problems you should conduct some tests to the hosting provider you want to use.
Visit some websites that use server side scripts and databases which are hosted on the provider. How do you know that a website uses a script or a database? Just take a look at the URLs of its webpages. Make sure they have .php or .cgi extension.
To find out how well your databases will run on the hosting service, try to use the searching facilities of some websites hosted there. You can try to visit their link directories since many reciprocal linking programs require database to run.
I have performed a computational speed test with Hostony and here is the result:
The script to perform the test can be downloaded here.
